I just uploaded a show and the show should be about 670MB or something close to that. In the place where you can download the lossless file it says it is 970MB which is certainly too big. It does fit on one disk. Any ideas?

We noticed this on a few other shows. It seems that the zip robot is putting all four file formats into the zip file resulting in larger-than-necessary zip files.

Here are examples:

(all recent uploads)

I submitted an error report for the first link (Pnuma) since I uploaded it.

The lossless link is always double the size of the actual zip file (or somewhere around double) - this is related to the fact that we "zip on the fly". You can't trust that number for lossless zips.

Nice recording Clinton.

So when people download the file it is actually 670 whatever MB's? Weird.

Thanks

Yes, that's right. The calculation for filesize is wrong, I don't know why. If the zip file actually exists in the show folder (many of our older uploads have zip files for VBR MP3's) then that number is correct.

To determine if it is zip on the fly - check for "\compress" as part of the URL.
